The Early Warning System in Sydney’s CBD is a public address system designed to reach the public promptly.
The original speaker unit was housed in a plastic enclosure with the peripheral connections hardwired. One of the basic considerations for this project was to improve reliability of the system and to make the replacement of units easier.
By using a customised Universal NI stainless steel enclosure, all the peripheral connections were changed to be plug and socket based. The design also included a shelf for better storage of equipment.
By working closely with the customer, B&R has been able to satisfy the requirements of this project. This solution significantly improved the reliability of the system with no moisture damage to the electronics since changing over to the new enclosures.
