Connecting Sydney’s Motorway Network

The Rozelle Interchange is a major motorway project in Sydney, designed to connect the M4 and M5 motorways while providing future connectivity to the M8 Western Harbour Tunnel. The project was constructed by the John Holland/CPB Contractors Joint Venture (JHCPBJV).

B&R Enclosures was invited by JHCPBJV to tender for the design, manufacture, testing and delivery of the project’s low voltage distribution board (LVDB) technology package. Following a detailed review of the tender requirements, B&R developed a compliant solution that met the project’s technical requirements while delivering a competitive commercial offering.

A Large-Scale LVDB Package
B&R’s scope included the manufacture and delivery of 203 panels, supplied across 10 delivery batches in line with the project’s construction schedule.

Following contract award, B&R worked collaboratively with JHCPBJV through the detailed design phase, progressing the LVDB design through to the approval of Issue for Construction (IFC) drawings. Once IFC approval was achieved, B&R commenced manufacturing and electrical integration in accordance with the agreed project program.

Designed Around the Application
The approved LVDBs incorporated split-chassis distribution boards ranging from 36 to 72 poles. The boards also included multiple types of ELV control sections, with selected configurations incorporating network switches and FOBOTs, while others included RIO I/O functionality.

Delivered to Program
Throughout manufacturing, B&R worked closely to the project’s program milestones, achieving required witness points for client approval and completing each batch delivery in line with the construction schedule.

The project was successfully delivered to the client, meeting the technical and commercial requirements of the contract and achieving all key project milestones.
