NBN / FttP Enclosures
Complying with Mandatory Government Requirements for Greenfield Sites
Applications
In July 2010 all new housing in greenfield developments will need to be fitted with an enclosure that is also suitable for optical fibre. B&R have developed an NBN / FttH / FttP enclosure for this application and have existing installation in various projects around Australia.
All Domestic and Commercial Enclosures are sold via Hager B&R through your local electrical wholesaler.
Enclosure Design
he NBN Enclosure is designed to simplify installation of the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) by integrating it with the general utilities meter box, while keeping it in a separate compartment. This allows access to power and earthing, while at the same time having the enclosure protect the ONT from direct sunlight, which in the Australian environment can easily cause temperatures to rise above the maximum operating conditions.
The enclosures feature: -
- Separate power and ONT compartments
- Separate doors to both sections with door stays and gravity catches
- Venting to reduce internal temperatures
- Knockouts power and fibre entry
- Power cable covers and communications panel
- Versions available with integrated switchboards
State Power Requirements
Designs are available to suit the local power requirements of Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, Northern Territories and Queensland.

Construction
- Powdercoated 1.0mm zinc coated steel
- Welded joints with specifications provided by SIR.
