The Role
This is a varied accounting role which may suit a graduate or someone looking to take the next step in their career with a medium sized family organisation. This role will report to the Senior Financial Accountant and will be an integral part of our busy and growing finance team based at Heathwood (near Forest Lake).
Reponsibilities will include:
Preparing monthly journals, reconciliations, statements and reports
Preparing, processing and reconciliations for foreign invoice processing
Accounts Payable and reconciliations of major debtor acounts
Collation and preparation of BAS/IAS/GST payments
Preparation of R&D expenses for R&D tax concessions
General support and back up to the finance team as required.
Company expansion will see opportunity for quick growth, hence this role will develop in responsibility in time. It is expected that the successful candidate will have the drive and initiative to make this role their own and develop their skills accordingly.
Key Skills and Requirements
We are looking for a business graduate majoring in Accounting/Finance with a view to complete their CPA. This role requires a high level of organisation skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks, identifying priorities and work to deadlines. They will need exceptional communication and logical thinking skills to enable them to be successful in this role.
In addition you will have:
• Practical knowledge of Accounting Standards and Australian Tax Law
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Previous work experience in accounting would be an advantage
